A huge congratulations to the Year 10 boys football team who achieved an incredible feat – retaining their District 5 A-Side title for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year!

The victory came against some tough competition on Tuesday 14 January at Bohunt School, with teams featuring academy players from Southampton, Reading, Oxford, and Swindon.

The team got off to a strong start, comfortably dispatching both John Madejski and Willink with 2-0 victories in each match. These wins secured top spot in the group, setting up an exciting quarter-final showdown. The highly anticipated clash against local rivals Little Heath ended in another 2-0 victory. The team once again showed their dominance, proving too much for the opposition. In the semi-final, we faced Maiden Erlegh Reading, where the team’s resilience was truly tested. For the first time in the tournament, we conceded a goal, falling 1-0 behind. But with time running out, Captain Hayden Vaughan delivered a sensational strike to equalize, sending the match into a penalty shoot-out. Under immense pressure, the boys kept their cool to win the shoot-out and secure their place in the final.

The final was a fitting conclusion to the tournament, as the boys saved their best performance for last. They dominated the match from the start, showcasing some brilliant, high-octane football. With two early goals, they left Prospect struggling to keep up. The game finished 2-1, with the boys clinching their fourth consecutive District 5 A-Side title in spectacular fashion.

A huge congratulations to the entire team on this historic achievement.
