Students from all the four Houses put on a amazing show of talent in the House Performance challenge on November 28, acting out four fantastically funny and thought-provoking plays about the House founders.
Scott started us off with the tale of Peter Scott, an astoundingly busy polymath (played by Sophie Higgs) who turned his hand to absolutely everything and founded the World Wildlife Fund.
Piper followed this with their witty and hilarious take on the life of John Piper, the frustrated painter (played by Riley Wilson) who had big dreams.
Finn Lomer of Hunt House gave us his heroic John Hunt a deeply romantic and gut-achingly funny performance from him and all involved.
Finally the evening was topped off with a very funny view of the history of Benyon and Englefield with a thoughtful and charming central performance from Cameron Teale as Richard Benyon.
These shows would not have been possible without the incredible work of the House Captains who tirelessly lead their teams to the performance through weekly rehearsals and design sessions.
The school was very excited to welcome back Erin and Mary Tingle as our guest judges. They were bowled over by the enthusiasm, professionalism and hard work of all of the students. The performances were judged on various criteria, the publicity photographs from rehearsal, the poster, the judge’s programme, the programme, the song, the dance and the performance overall.
It was all very close but in the end Hunt were crowned the winners of this year’s competition.
