Staff went down a rabbit hole of silliness when they put on the annual staff panto – Alice in Wonderland – to the delight of students!
Alice was brought to life by Head of Science, Mrs Onions, while Mr Blinco used his PE skills to make sure he wasn’t late as the White Rabbit.
The villain of the piece was the Knave of Hearts – Mr Neill, who planned to steal the greatest tarts in Wonderland with his sidekicks the Cheshire Cat (Miss Campbell) and Caterpillar (Miss Baker) from the bad-tempered Queen of Hearts (Mrs Coombs) and level-headed King of Hearts (Mr Lambert).
Mrs Brown and Mr Fitch played Tweedledum and Tweedledee with aplomb, and Alice was helped in her quest to return the tarts by the custard pie wielding Mad Hatter (Mr Chattock), March Hare (Mrs Chattock), sleepy Dormouse (Mrs Morris), crazy Cook (Mrs Cash), sneezy Duchess (Ms Rutti), sad Mock Turtle (Miss Loxton) and the wise Old Father Time (Mr Holbrook).
The play was held together by the remarkable talents of Mrs Wilson as Ethel the Narrator. Even Mrs Badarello also made her traditional guest appearance as the messenger!
