Pupil Premium and Catch-Up Funding
The government introduced pupil premium with the aim of increasing social mobility, reducing the attainment gap between the highest and lowest achieving pupils nationally and enabling more students from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend top universities. We use the funding to ensure every child has access to the same opportunities, particularly those important enriching cultural experiences that make school life enjoyable and purposeful.
Free School Meals is closely linked to Pupil Premium; if you think you may be eligible, please follow this link to apply: https://info.westberks.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals
Catch-up premium is government funding to assist schools in providing additional support in literacy and numeracy. Each school is entitled to an additional £500 for each year 7 student who did not achieve at least level 4 (or the scaled score equivalent) in reading and/or maths at the end of Key Stage 2.
The impact of funding for individual students will be closely monitored and evaluated and a report will be provided at the end of each academic year. A link to our latest reports is here: https://www.thealegreen.w-berks.sch.uk/about-us/policies-statements-and-reports/
