A year after she had visited the English Literature students of Theale Green School to discuss her successful career, internationally acclaimed author, Diane Setterfield returned to Theale to publicise her most recent novel: Once Upon A River (currently number 5 on the Saturday Times best seller list).

Year 13 student, Lily Wheeler, was asked by the author to interview her for an engaging and enjoyable Q&A session at Theale Library on Wednesday 13 February. Lily perceptively probed Diane on her influences; the significance of storytelling and her writing process.  Lily also inquired how Theale Green School had influenced the author, to which Diane spoke at length about the prominent part Theale Green School had played in her success.

Lily has received a place at Bath Spa University to study Journalism and Publishing and we, in the English Department, trust this interview is the start of a glittering career.
