On Thursday 3 October, award-winning poet, Coral Rumble, visited Theale Green School in celebration of National Poetry Day.

Coral has been visiting Theale Green School for many years and working with KS3 students, leading fun, interactive and creative workshops.

Coral’s visit highlighted National Poetry Day with the theme for this year being TRUTH. Year 7 students enjoyed working with Coral to create thoughtful and imaginative poetry and discovered how powerful words can be. Students had fun creating word chains and were set the challenge to write as many linked words in two minutes! Year 7 students created their own ‘TRUTH’ poetry and are busily working on completing their poems. All poetry produced by students will be entered into the Year 7 Poetry Competition. Winners will be announced after half term and the winning entries will be displayed in the Learning Resource Centre.
