Last month, students from Years 7 and 8 wowed audiences with their performances of The Literary Mystery Plays.

Year 10 drama students guided groups of intrepid parents around the school where they watched abridged versions of classic texts performed by 131 Year 7 and 8 students. Parents were treated to adaptations of Lord of the Rings, Hercule Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, War of the Worlds, The Famous Five and many more…

This was soon followed by the House finale which provided an incredible climax to the year. The judges; Mrs Halliday, Mrs Cartland, Mr Lambert and special guest Alexander McWilliam, sweated it out to find who had created the most effective piece of drama, the most entertaining dance and the most impressive piece of music.

As well as this, four brave students battled it out in a nerve-wracking Mastermind round (which Hunt House won).

In the end, Hunt House won the drama competition with their thoughtful biography of their House founder (that appeared to be hijacked by caricatures of Mr Blinco and Mrs Parker), Scott House won dance and the Benyon Choir won music!

Hunt House were crowned overall winners for the evening, but, as the year draws to a close, there is still everything to play for with Piper currently in the lead…
