Report by Mrs K Coombs – Head of Music
Last week, our Music Department took a 2-day theatre trip to London, and what a journey it was! From the moment we hopped on the coach, the students filled the air with excitement (and plenty of singing!) 🎤🎶
Our adventure began in Covent Garden, then moved on to Leicester Square for some exploring and lunch. After checking into the hotel, we had dinner and headed to the iconic Phantom of the Opera – the stage design was breath-taking, and the students’ reactions were priceless (lots of gasps and jump scares!). We were even complimented by a fellow theatre-goer on how well-behaved our group was!
Bedtime was smooth sailing for once (a first in my career), and everyone woke up ready for an exciting morning. After a delicious breakfast, we headed to Pineapple Studios for a thrilling stage combat class – don’t worry, no students were harmed! (Though some photos might suggest otherwise).
Our final stop? The majestic Royal Albert Hall! We learned fascinating facts – did you know the building sank ½ an inch when the glass dome was dropped into place? Or that it holds over 6 million red bricks? 😲 We even got a peek inside the Royal family’s private room! 🏰
We returned to school tired, but with unforgettable memories. Our students were a true credit to Theale Green, and we can’t wait for next year! 🙌✨
