We are delighted to announce that Theale Green School has been graded as ‘Good’ in its latest Ofsted inspection of 4 and 5 May 2022.
In summary, Ofsted now make six main judgements. Their findings were:
A Level and GCSE results 2024
As a successful and rapidly growing school, we are delighted our students have performed so well that we have secured improvements across every Key Stage 4 performance measure, at the same time as student numbers are increasing so rapidly.
We are incredibly proud of every student who have shone brightly in their time with us. Our students took on the lead roles in multiple school productions, and acted as ambassadors for younger students, embodying the school values of Hard Work, Respect and Progress.
Year 11
- The percentage of students attaining grade 4 or above in English and Maths was 60%. Although this is a lower percentage compared to 78% achieved in 2022, this translates in to more students achieving this important benchmark as the school continues to grow.
- Several subject areas, including French, History and PE achieved results above national average at every key grade threshold.
- The Attainment 8 Score was 41.09, an increase from 2022/23 figures.
Year 13
Many of this incredible year group have secured their places at prestigious universities and degree apprenticeships. This year’s results include four students from Brazil, Italy, Hungary and the Ukraine who have overcome significant language barriers, thrived in our supportive Sixth Form, and are now in a strong position to progress their studies further.
More than a third of this year group benefited from studying a broader curriculum than the traditional three A Level offer, this included an extensive careers programme and First Aid for all students, equipping them with vital skills as they move into the world of work. Our students have heavily supported our growing school community, and have also led whole school events including our successful Toilet Twinning charity campaign.
With a wealth of individual success stories, including students who two years ago couldn’t speak English and have gone on to achieve A* results, it is difficult to narrow these down but we are delighted to share:
- Lily Varley, A*A*AA, going to University of Bristol to read Biomedical science
- Alex Moore, A*AAA, going to University of Warwick to read English Literature
- Beatriz Bruscato, A*AAB, going to University of Sussex to read Law
We also have students going to apprenticeship positions at organisations including the British Government and the Formula One company Xtrac.
