There are so many performance opportunities at Theale Green School. From the annual musical production to our touring shows, we offer students the opportunity to really develop their performance and teamwork skills. We give our students experiences that no other school in the area does; the opportunity to perform in professional touring and outdoor venues gives students a taste of the world of work, provides them with a thrilling and fun experience and enables them to look forward to an exciting future.

Our musical productions give our students the opportunity to develop their acting, dancing and singing skills. You could also join the school band who, as well as accompanying our performers in the school musicals also form the backbone of our excellent Carol Concerts every year.

We are delighted to invite students from primary schools to our shows every year. Our matinee shows are always packed to the rafters! Sometimes we visit the primary schools too, 

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) gives students the opportunity to challenge themselves, discover new interests and develop valuable skills that will benefit them both in and beyond school.

Through volunteering, physical activity, developing a skill and taking part in expeditions, students build confidence, resilience, independence and determination. They learn to work as part of a team, solve problems, manage challenges and take responsibility for their own progress.

Expeditions provide particularly valuable opportunities for students to develop leadership, navigation, organisation and teamwork skills, while experiencing adventure and spending time in the great outdoors. From completing their first Bronze expedition to taking on the challenges of Silver and Gold, students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zones and discover what they are capable of achieving.

DofE also gives students the chance to make a positive contribution to their community through volunteering, while pursuing activities and interests that are meaningful to them. Along the way, they learn that achievement is not simply about reaching the finish line, but about personal growth, perseverance and overcoming challenges.

Our DofE community also benefits from students supporting and encouraging one another. Our Young Leaders are excellent role models, sharing their experience and enthusiasm while helping younger participants develop their confidence and skills.

Whether students are embarking on their first DofE adventure or working towards Gold, the Award provides an enriching experience that helps young people become more confident, capable and independent individuals, ready to take on new challenges.
