On Thursday evening, we welcomed students, families, and staff to our annual GCSE Awards Evening—a truly memorable occasion to celebrate the hard work, resilience, and success of our Year 11 who sat their exams earlier this year. The hall was filled to capacity, creating a fantastic atmosphere of pride and support.
The programme began with a warm welcome and presentation of GCSE certificates, followed by an inspiring address from our special guest, Steve Frew. Steve, Scotland’s first-ever Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist in Gymnastics, shared his remarkable journey of perseverance and achievement, leaving students and families motivated and uplifted.

We then moved on to the presentation of Subject Awards, which were nominated by subject leaders to recognise students who demonstrated exceptional commitment, progress, and achievement in their chosen subjects. These awards celebrate not only academic excellence but also resilience, creativity, and a positive attitude to learning—qualities that truly embody the spirit of Theale Green School.
