GCSE progress significantly improved at Theale Green School
Year 11 students at Theale Green School are celebrating this morning after collecting their GCSE results. The improved exam results come after Theale Green School joined Activate Learning Education Trust at the beginning of the year.
Students have performed impressively well in the face of more demanding and rigorous examinations. Excellent progress has been made in English and mathematics, where 60% achieved at least 4+ in both subjects. Biology, chemistry and physics results have improved to 90% achieving a strong pass across the three sciences. There is continued excellence in the performing arts and sport, where over 31% of students achieved 7+. Early indications show that Progress 8 has improved significantly since 2017.
These results are an excellent foundation for the students who are going on to further study in the outstanding Sixth Form at Theale Green School.
Headteacher of Theale Green School, Julie Turner, said: “This is a set of very good results and we are proud of our students and staff who have all worked so hard to achieve and secure the improvements seen this year.”
Joanne Harper, Deputy CEO of Activate Learning Education Trust, said: “I am thrilled for the students at Theale Green School. I am confident the school will go from strength to strength.”
