On Thursday 9th October, we were delighted to welcome students, families, and staff to our KS3 Awards Evening a special event celebrating the achievements of our Year 8 and Year 9 students from the 2024/25 academic year. The evening was a joyful reflection of the hard work, character, and commitment shown by our students, and it was wonderful to see so many proud family members in attendance.

Mr Bowler opened the evening with a warm welcome, followed by an inspiring speech from Emily Clifford, a member of our Sixth Form Head Team. Emily shared her personal journey, reflecting on how the foundations for her success were laid during KS3. Her words resonated deeply, reminding us all of the importance of perseverance, self-belief, and embracing every opportunity.

Awards Presentation

The evening continued with the presentation of awards, with students recognised for Respect and Hard Work across each subject area. These awards highlighted those who consistently demonstrated kindness, professionalism, and integrity in their interactions, as well as those who showed exceptional dedication to their learning and personal growth.

  • The Respect Award celebrated students who bring positivity into every classroom, support their peers, and embody the values of character and responsibility.
  • The Hard Work Award honoured those who approach every challenge with determination, curiosity, and creativity, whether achieving top marks, contributing thoughtfully in class, or supporting wider school events.

Attendance Recognition Ms Sanders then took to the stage to honour students who achieved 100% attendance last year, a testament to their resilience, dedication, and commitment to their education.

Special Awards

The evening concluded with a series of special awards presented by Miss Kidd, Head of Year 8 and Mr Bowler on behalf of Mr Neill, Head of Year 9.

  • Jake Clarke was recognised for his endless enthusiasm and for brightening Miss Kidd’s day with his positivity.
  • Benji Felix received an award for being an all-round excellent student who truly embodies our school values and embraces every opportunity.
  • The prestigious Jo Halliday Award for Outstanding Sports Leadership was awarded to Tia Davis, who has shown exceptional leadership and commitment in supporting primary students to access sport at Theale Green School.

A Sweet Ending The evening ended with tea, cake, and plenty of smiles, as families and staff took the opportunity to chat, take photographs, and celebrate the incredible achievements of our KS3 students.

We look forward to celebrating with our Class of 2024/25 GCSE students in November, A Level students in January and with our new current Year 7’s in March.
