Performance Opportunities at Theale Green School
There are so many performance opportunities at Theale Green School. From the annual musical production to our touring shows, we offer students the opportunity to really develop their performance and teamwork skills. We give our students experiences that no other school in the area does; the opportunity to perform in professional space, outdoor venues and other schools gives students a taste of the world of work, providing them with a thrilling and fun experience and enables them to look forward to an exciting future.

Our musical productions give our students the opportunity to develop their acting, dancing and singing skills. We have state of the art technical facilities, a school hall with a newly refurbished LED lighting system and incredible sound to support our student’s efforts. We have two fully equipped Drama studios and a Dance studio too. You could also join the school band who, as well as accompanying our performers in the school musicals also form the backbone of our excellent Carol Concerts every year.
Our summer productions always push the envelope. We often perform at the Bradfield Greeker, a local open air Greek theatre but we have also performed at local venues such as South Street Arts Centre or on other occasions gone further afield to Gloucester College Theatre or even as far as Whitby for our production of “Tales from the Black Meadow”.

We are delighted to invite students from primary schools to our shows every year. Our matinee shows are always packed to the rafters! Sometimes we visit the primary schools too, as we did in in 2022 when we took Kill the Messenger to Calcot Primary School and in 2018 when we took The Comic Mystery Plays to Englefield Primary School, Southcote Primary School and Pangbourne Primary School. We look forward to doing this again with our next production.
Students have the opportunity to create, direct, perform and design plays for the House Performance competition every year. The students are given a House related starting point and have to create a play that includes a song and dance sequence.
