Speak Up Speak Out
In our school, we are all safe, respected and heard because we Speak Up, Speak Out.
Speak Up, Speak Out is a Trust-wide campaign designed to ensure that all students feel safe and happy at school, and know what to do if they, or someone they know, isn’t.
It combines a whole school approach, including:
- RSHE curriculum
- The school’s Safeguarding Ethos
- Anti-bullying
- Respectful behaviours
- Staff training
- Student belonging and leadership.
It involves assemblies, tutor sessions, posters around school and even staff training, so the message flows through into our behaviour rewards and sanctions systems.
Our student-led manifesto, which you can find below, outlines how we all want to behave and work together, and has been distilled into posters you can see as you walk around our school.
We value our culture of mutual respect.
Students have also recently designed their own response for how we “RESPECT” all members of our school community and the Brilliant Basics that students expect of staff, to sit alongside the Brilliant Basics Staff expect of students.
If, as a student, parent, governor or visitor to our school, you see something, please report it to a member of the safeguarding team (who wear special pink lanyards), a tutor, teacher or any adult you trust. We also have Whisper, an anonymous service that lets you report a problem to our team.
