Year 11 students at Thea le Green School are celebrating today as they receive their GCSE results.

Students arrived at the school this morning to collect their results, reflecting on their achievement and looking ahead to the next stage of their education, training or employment.

We are pleased to report that this year’s cohort has achieved remarkable success at whole school and subject levels, which translate into incredible student success.  Whilst it is a challenge to include all of these success stories, below are three areas that particularly stand out.

  • The best GCSE results that students have achieved, at all levels, since the school joined Activate Learning Trust (ALET) in 2018. Results at all thresholds are at their strongest point and have increased significantly in the last seven years.
  • 40% of all students achieved GCSE results at grade 7 or better, with the average grade achieved by students also at its highest level since joining ALET.
  • Science results, which have been an area of focus for the school, exceed national pass rates at both strong and standard levels.  Furthermore, results at grade 7 or better, have doubled over the last three years.

We are proud of all our students for their hard work and resilience. Some notable individual achievements include:

  • Lleyton Brittain
  • Lexi Whitter
  • Cameron Teale
  • Ezekiel Lomath

These incredible young people achieved 21 top grade 9 results between them, including Further Maths, and we just know are destined for great things.

Students are moving on to a range of exciting destinations. These include multiple professional sports pathways, as well as academic progression into Theale Green School’s sixth form.

Headteacher Mrs. Badarello said:

“I am incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and all they have achieved. Their results reflect their hard work and also demonstrate the sustained improvements in our school, particularly over the last four years under the care and guidance of our wonderful staff.

These students have undertaken many different leadership roles in their time with us, including Sports Leaders & Prefects.  Students have achieved success at multiple professional levels in sport; they have played the lead roles in school productions, and many have left their mark as the first group to successfully complete the Duke of Edinburgh Silver award.  We look forward to welcoming back those joining our Sixth Form in September for our largest Sixth Form in over a decade.”

Theale Green School is continuing to support students by providing information, advice and guidance on results day, as well as speaking with any local students still unsure on their options.
