Theale Green School have donated 120 pairs of eye protection goggles to key NHS staff working on the front line in the Royal Berkshire Hospital, to help protect against coronavirus. Huge thank you to Birch Copse Primary School for organising this donation from local schools.

Joanna Halliday, Headteacher at Theale Green School, said: “We were so pleased to be able to help. So many of our friends and families work in the NHS and any act, however small, to let them all know how much their care is appreciated, is an act worth carrying out. Luckily our school was open for children of key workers when the call went out, so we were able to act quickly to respond.”

Other schools also within the Activate Learning Education Trust have used their specialist design and engineering skills to create face shields using industry equipment, such as 3D printers. Students leading this project are now taking requests from local NHS provisions to help deal with the demand.
