Year 9 student, George, was one of 15 finalists selected from 100 entries to attend the finals of the School Science Prize, hosted by Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC).

To enter the competition, students had to write a 500 word essay about “Why I love science” with judges looking for an excitement about science and an enthusiasm to learn more.

As one of the finalists, George was given a detailed behind the scenes tour of STFC’s high powered laser facility before making his two-minute presentation to a panel of judges made up of senior scientists at STFC, as well as other finalists and their families.

George gave a fantastic presentation and spoke well; he has made Theale Green School very proud.
