Year 11 students are celebrating this morning after receiving their GCSE results – the gateway to the next stage of their education. These results are a good foundation for students who are going on to continue their journey with us at our highly successful Sixth Form or other post 16 educational providers.
This year we are so proud of all our pupils, who have consistently shown fortitude, determination and resilience over this challenging year in the face of exam uncertainty and remote learning.
The students’ hard work has resulted in 35% of all students achieving a grade 7 or better in English or Maths. 27% of all students achieved a grade 9 result and 70% achieved a grade 7 or better.
Jo Halliday, Headteacher said:
At Theale Green School we are really proud of the accomplishments of our year 11 students. This is a year group who had an interrupted course of learning that no other 16-year-olds have ever experienced before. We have been full of pride in how they have remained focused through adversity, working closely with their teachers to go on and achieve outstanding results. We are very excited to see so many of our students continuing into our outstanding Sixth Form and are looking forward to welcoming external applicants for this important stage of their education.
Joanne Harper, CEO of Activate Learning Education Trust, said:
The students at Theale Green School go from strength to strength; they should be really proud of the young adults they are growing in to. They have shown determination and resilience in achieving this next step and we are looking forward to continuing to work with our students over the next two years of sixth form.
Charlotte Badarello, Deputy Headteacher, who has overseen significant change in the curriculum over the last two years said:
We have seen some very strong performances from some exceptional students; we are equally proud of the significant number of students who have made extraordinary progress and achieved the highest grades in parallel to the substantial school improvements that have been made at Theale Green School.
Our school are continuing to support students by providing information, advice and guidance on GCSE results day.
